This Guide article establishes the policies governing use of University 365's registered trademarks, as well as the use of unregistered names, seals, logos, emblems, images, symbols and slogans that are representative of University 365 (together referred to herein as "Marks").

1. Marks
University 365's Marks (for example "University 365", "University 4.0" and "Your Success. Every Day".) are owned by Mouriesse Alick Education Group Ltd, Mouriesse Alick Collection Ltd and, or Alick Mouriesse they are a valuable university asset. Members, Faculty, students, staff and alumni share in the benefits associated with the Marks, and therefore also share responsibilities to ensure correct use. University 365's General Management or Presidency is to be consulted with any questions about University 365 Marks and their use.
1. Registered Marks: A partial list of University 365's registered Marks includes, but is not limited to:
- The words “University 365”
- The Block "U 365" with tree emblem
- The University 365 seal
- The phrases "Your Success. Every Day"
- The words "University 4.0" slogan
The General Management Department maintains a complete list of registered Marks.
2. Unregistered Marks
A partial list of University 365 unregistered Marks includes, but is not limited to:
- The word “U365”
- The word "university-365"
- “INSIDE” or “U365 INSIDE” or "INSIDE U365"
- The phrases with U 365 emblem “I'm U p”, "I'm U nique", "I love U", "We love U" , "Level U p"
- Block “U” Logo without "365" emblem
Trademark Licensing maintains a complete list of unregistered Marks.
Authority
The President has authority for approving use of University 365's Marks as follows:
1. for use in connection with educational, research and other activities (including courseware and related materials developed for teaching at University 365) and for special events.
2. for use by manufacturers of merchandise and products, in connection with University 365's business activities, and by vendors (including promotional use). Only the President may grant permission for use of University 365's Marks on merchandise and products.
3. for use in connection with University 365's Charity activities.
4. for use in film, video, print and digital media, including the University 365's web pages.
5. for use in connection with legal affairs.
Authority for approving all other uses of University 365's Marks remains with the President.
3. Use of Marks
1. General: University 365's Marks may only be used by University 365 members, faculty, staff, students, and alumni as provided in this policy and for no other purposes. University 365 faculty and staff include only those individuals who meet the criteria. Members include only individuals with a vérification of identity. Students include only members individuals currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at University 365. Alumni include only individuals who have completed a degree-granting program at University 365. No other individuals or entities may use University 365's Marks without the permission of the Président, or its delegate.
2. Faculty and Staff: University 365 faculty and staff may only use University 365's Marks in connection with University 365 departments, institutes, events, programs, projects, activities, publications and products that are officially sponsored or sanctioned by University 365.
1. When a faculty or staff member is involved in activities that are not officially sponsored or sanctioned by University 365 (such as independent consulting, outside business activities, civic and volunteer work, and publications), use of University 365's name and marks is limited to identification of the individual’s University 365 affiliation (e.g., Albert Daliger, Professor of Langage Python, University 365). University 365 seal and other emblems may not be used.
2. The General management department (info @ university-365.com) or the President (alick.mouriesse @ university-365.com) is to be consulted before using University 365 Marks on any product, in a book title, in the name of any non-University 365 business or activity, or in the name of a course or program that is not owned by University 365.
3. Faculty and staff members may not grant permission for use of University 365's Marks to individuals and entities outside of University 365 without consultation with the Office of the President (alick.mouriesse @ university-365.com). This prohibition includes granting permission to (a) vendors and others in a business relationship with University 365, (b) research sponsors, (c) donors, and (d) industrial affiliate program members.
4. All use of University 365's Marks in film, video, print and digital media (including in press releases) must comply with this Trademarks article, as well as the policies established by University 365.
5. This policy is not intended to limit use of the University 365's Marks in situations that fall within the normal scope of University 365's activities as a online academic institution, as a research institution and as an employer. In these instances, University 365's Marks may be used in accordance with the review processes established by institutes, departments, centers and programs so long as the uses approved are consistent with the policies included in this Trademarks Guide.
3. Members, Students and Alumni: Members, Students and alumni may only use University 365's Marks as described below:
1. Members, Students and alumni may use University 365's name, but no other Marks, to identify their attendance at and degrees from University 365 on resumes and on digital channels such as personal web sites and social media.
2. Undergraduate and graduate students may use University 365's name and the Block U365 with logo emblem on business cards which identify their member or/and student status. The approved business card format is included in the Identity Toolkit. Alumni may not use University 365 Marks on business cards without permission.
3. Members, Students and alumni may use University 365's Marks in connection with the University-sanctioned activities of member, student and alumni groups that have received and maintain official University 365 recognition. When the Marks are used in these instances, it must be clear that the activity is either a member, student activity or an alumni activity, and not a University 365 activity.
4. Only recognized members, student and alumni groups may produce merchandise that incorporates University 365 Marks. Such merchandise may only be produced in connection with University-sanctioned activities and must comply with all policies and procedures established by the Trademark Licensing Office for licensed product or by the President.
4. Additional Considerations: Use of University 365's Marks must comply with the following:
1. In all situations, use of Marks by an authorized individual or entity must be consistent with University 365's academic mission and its reputation for excellence.
2. All uses of University 365's Marks must comply with applicable policies and guidelines, including those included in the Trademark Licensing webpage, the Identity Toolkit, the Name Use Guidelines, and all other policies and guidelines listed in this article.
3. All uses of University 365's Marks must carry proper trademark designations, as established by the Office of the General Management or Presidency and specified on the Trademark Licensing webpage. This includes ® on registered marks and TM on unregistered Marks when required.
4. University 365's Marks may never be altered or combined with another organization’s name or logo without permission from University 365's President or other individual with delegated authority.
4. Prohibited Use of Marks
The following uses of University 365's Marks are not permitted, except as otherwise authorized by (a) this policy, (b) the Name Use Guidelines, (c) other published guidelines or (d) University 365's President or other individual with delegated authority.
1. By non-University 365 individuals and entities. This includes, but is not limited to, vendors, technology licensees, research funders, donors, industrial affiliate program members, collaborators, partners and guest speakers.
2. In a manner that endorses or implies endorsement of (a) a non-University 365 entity, or (b) the programs, products or services of a non-University 365 entity.
3. By faculty, members, staff, students, alumni or others in association with any commercial activity or outside venture.
4. In situations which will negatively impact University 365's reputation, or which may have the potential to impact negatively University 365's reputation. Such situations include, but are not limited to, use of Marks in connection with materials which (i) violate any law or regulation, (ii) have the potential to offend a person or group on the basis of gender, ethnic origin, religion, race, disability or sexual orientation, (iii) could be considered to be pornographic, or (iv) could be considered to be defamatory.
5. In connection with partisan political activities, Political, Campaign and Lobbying Activities.
Involvement by individual faculty, members, staff, students, or alumni in a non-University 365 activity is not a sufficient basis for indicating University 365 sponsorship or endorsement and Marks may not be used in connection with such activities.
5. Trademark Licensing Program
All merchandise bearing any Marks must be produced by a licensed vendor and be approved by University 365's Trademark Licensing Office or General Management or Presidency. The Trademark Licensing Office will issue or approve all licenses, issue guidelines governing the production, sale and other distribution of licensed merchandise, and manage University 365's trademark licensing program. All merchandise produced for sale (including items that are sold to cover the cost of production) will be royalty-bearing at the rate established by the Trademark Licensing Office. Only items that are produced for internal use by University 365, and are not offered for re-sale, are not royalty-bearing. Net proceeds from University 365's trademark licensing program royalties are used to support students financial aid and the University 365 Charity Department.
6. Registrations
1. Domain Names: Domain names that incorporate the words "University 365" or "U365" may only be registered in the name of the President of University 365 and may only be used in connection with activities that are officially sponsored or sanctioned by University 365.
2. Marks: Trademarks for the University may only be registered in the name of the President of University 365 and may only be used in connection with activities that are officially sponsored or sanctioned by University 365. The General Management office or the President is responsible for registration of all trademarks for the University.
7. Enforcement of Rights
The University will actively protect its Marks from improper or misleading use by individuals or organizations not associated with University 365 and will ensure that use of Marks by University 365 members, faculty, students, staff, alumni, schools, departments, institutes, centers and programs conforms to all applicable policies and guidelines. The General Management Office and Presidency are responsible for enforcement of University 365's Marks.
